I don’t know about you, but I’ve lost my patience waiting for spring! From the droning on and on all over the social media sites about this grotesquely grueling winter that WILL NOT QUIT, I’ve had to come up with very creative ways to go to my happy place. In case any of you were wondering, my happy place is in the sunshine, the warmth, and baring bare shoulders, gosh beaver dam it!
This was my status message to all my comrades on my personal Facebook page yesterday:
This never-ending weather has turned me into Archie Bunker. I am officially a grouchy curmudgeon. I’ve been fighting against it, but now I’m throwing in the towel. This is my disclaimer that my usual devil-may-care, playful self is now being overrun by a crotchety hag. If you’ve got a problem with it, take it up with Mother Nature. We are no longer on speaking terms. She sold me out for Old Lady Winter and she knows I hate that beotch.
So today’s coping mechanism was to purchase a new springy dress! I HAVE to see a hint of this winter’s end on the horizon. (Gheesh, I have to see the blasted horizon! Period!) I have a fun little number being delivered to the house to keep me from losing my noodle in these boots with the fur & flippin’ hoodies (yes, it’s come to that, my sweets, it’s come to that). Hence, I am now patiently awaiting a verdant vineyard dress — a color-blocked A-line dress with rich purple, bright green, and chic black panels on the bottom, a sort of pleated frock reflecting the grapes, leaves, and soil of a beautiful vacation spot that is warm, airy, and NOT blustering frigid zephyr. @*#&$^%! I am picturing it with printed tights and slip-on flats & my Jackie O shades atop my head to top off its princess-seamed, cotton-blend. I am going to daydream about quick jaunts to wine country in my pretend ’57 fuel-injected Pontiac Bonneville convertible. Le sigh… My soul needs make-believe right now, something fierce.
Therefore, I troll the Internet looking for adorable signs of life in fabric & twirl-y dresses to make me feel like any day we’re going to turn a corner and see tulips burgeoning up from the thoroughly confuzzled ground. #crossfingers #wishoneyelashes/pennies/thenorthstar
Keep calm & SHINE on, Dollfaces!
Angelika Frangelico *Gros bisous*
